BOBBER BASICS

To use the bobber to search for underground water, hold it out in front of your midline, and start it in a search motion bouncing it up and down vertically. When you get a response, the bob will slow down and start a circular rotation. When you walk across a vein, the bobber will start rotating when you step directly above the water vein. It will continue rotating while you cross the vein, then go back to the search motion of a vertical up and down motion when you are no longer above it.

Next you need to establish a positive "yes" or negative "no" responce from the bobber. Start the bobber bouncing in the search position. While it is bouncing ask it to show you a "yes" responce. The bobber will go from a verticle bounce to a rotation. Notice if the rotation is "clockwise" or "counterclockwise". Now do the same for a "no" responce. The bobber should give you the opposite rotation. Practice until you and the bobber are consistant with your "yes" and "no" responces.

To find depth, you need to stand over the water vein you previously located. Start the bobber in the search motion and ask if the vein is below 100 feet. If the bobber starts a positive "yes" rotation, bring it back to the search motion and ask if the water source is below 200 feet. If again you get a positive "yes" rotation, go to 300 feet. If this time you get a negative or "no" rotation, your next question would be if the water source was below 225 feet, so-on-and-so-forth.

This is the very basics to using a bobber. There is a lot more to it but this will get you started. A search of the web will provide a lot more information. Good luck bobbing...............................Tom
